Did you know that applesauce is a finger food? Neither did I until a few months ago when we used colored applesauce for a toddler-friendly, hands-on art experience. And now, even though we got these beautiful new bamboo spoons, which Goen is mostly capable of using, he still prefers to use his hands to eat. Of course, if I were him, I would probably do the same. Path of least resistance and all. Actually, come to think of it, I often eat with my hands. Though, my reasons for doing it are more to keep him from commandeering my utensils and poking me in the eye with them or something. I suppose it doesn't matter how he eats his food, as long as he gets it into his mouth. Well, most of it anyway.

Hehe. It is. Good thing, too. Makes those hard days a little easier to get through.

I like your thought there about the feel, control, and freedom of eating with his hands. I think that has a lot to do with it. Utensils are difficult to maneuver, easy to drop out of reach, and don't allow for as much exploration. I suppose I'm in for more hands-on eating time.

Hi. My name is Carley. I love to sew, craft, and create. As a Jane-of all-crafts so to speak, I enjoy sewing, writing, cooking, drawing, photographing. But the constant thread (if you'll excuse the pun) throughout my weeks is needle arts. Archives
