I think the purple wood grain, pink trees, and yellow-green with flowers all belong together. A quilt, perhaps? Or a bag? Or something else. I'm so glad I got there at the beginning if the sale. There were three or four other people there at the same time I was, all crowded into the narrow space in the fabric aisle. Who knows what will be left at the end of the month. But I'll probably head over again in a couple weeks anyway to see if they add anything new to their stock, or just to see if something else catches my eye. Who am I kidding? Of course I'll find something, even if it's all the same!
After I discovered the delightful Once Around arts and crafts store last year when I had a hankering for some high quality quilting fabric, I have been back many times. For the entire month of March they have a sale on cottons, so I went yesterday to see what beautiful prints I could get my hands on. As I flipped through the one-yard cuts of fabric, I tried to keep all my different projects in mind, the ones that are still missing a piece or two. Well, I didn't make much progress there, but I did find four one-yard prints that are just beautiful. Although they are not my usual choices, I just fell in love with the colors and designs. Besides, a sale is the perfect time to step out of the usual and try something new, isn't it?

Thank you. I need to add a few pieces to it, I think, before it's ready for what I have in mind, but I hope to cut into it very soon.

Yeah they are peacocks, but with an artistic flourish. I feel in love with them, too, even though blue is not one of my go-to colors. In fact, this is the closest thing to true blue I own! And I'm so happy I do.

Hi. My name is Carley. I love to sew, craft, and create. As a Jane-of all-crafts so to speak, I enjoy sewing, writing, cooking, drawing, photographing. But the constant thread (if you'll excuse the pun) throughout my weeks is needle arts. Archives
