Welcome to my online journal for sewing, making, and creating!
I grew up in a home where crafting and creating were a way of life. Both my parents are creators and each of my siblings creates in different ways. So I began learning early. From forts in the front yard to dress-ups at my friend's house, as a kid I was always creating in my head and with my hands. Later, reading took over as my primary pursuit, but the visual creation of characters and places and events filled the void of hands-on doing. Now, after finishing graduate school, marrying my college sweetheart, and giving birth to a delightful little boy, I am once again applying myself to the art I love so much.
But I couldn't do any of this without support. My husband David not only puts up with all the projects I have around the house, he encourages my desire, my need, to create. And motherhood, that great adventure, has expanded my creativity (while simultaneously diminishing my crafting time). My son is my muse, my instigator of new projects, and my tempering force.
I am thankful for all the people in my life (near, far, and digital) who inspire me and give me an outlet for the creations that would otherwise take over my home. To my readers, I am thankful for your comments. They encourage me to continue writing and sharing.
